Another Plan was born out of a desire to create beautiful and sustainable design that is both a thoughtful purchase and feels like treasure in your hands; something to be valued, enjoyed and kept for many years - or easily recycled. Sourcing materials and processes which are local whenever possible and don’t have a harmful impact on the planet is key to our design ethos. We believe in leaving the world better than we found it, and we want to help make a difference through the things we make, the platform we have, and community we create.
Our Materials
Paper is a uniquely-renewable product and is also one of the most sustainable industries in the world. The main raw material, trees, are grown and harvested in a carefully controlled way – so successfully that European forests, where most of the raw material comes from, have grown by an area the size of Switzerland in just 10 years.
All of the luxury paper we use for our products is FSC Certified and has been made in the Lake District. The pulp used in the paper making process comes from the sustainable forests in Europe. Some of our cards or envelopes go one step further and are made from G.F Smith Extract. Extract uses disposable coffee cups destined for landfill and transforms them into beautiful paper. Every full size sheet of Extract 380gsm contains at least 5 upcycled coffee cups.
